NYSS - not your sex symbol

is an art project run by the Danish artist Sofie. 

It examines the standards set by our pop culture today through tv-series, books and fashion, standads that she herself has encountered in her own and her friends' lives. 

Setting off in pop culture, she connects and questions this by incorporating and comparing the fictional myth with real lived experiences - making the invisible of everyday life the center of attention in her art. 

Her main field of work is new performance and installation art, working in mixed media with a special focus on photography.
